Now, in the most recent issue of MovieMaker magazine, the fest has been named on of the “50 Fest Worth the Entry Fee”.
Situated at the top of the second column in the spread, the fest is lauded for recently being named an Academy Award-qualifying fest in the Documentary Short Form category.
Festival staff also provided photographs to the editors of the article, who included a picture of festival goers under the marquee of the Wilma during the festival.
The Big Sky Doc Fest has been steadily growing over the past years and is now making great strides in national news, but that doesn’t mean they are done for the year.
The Big Sky Film Series, a free-to-the-public film series (sponsored by the same board of directors for the fest) continues throughout the year offering opening screenings at local, Missoula hot-spots.
The film series, which as screened films ranging from “Dave Chappelle’s Block Party” to the “The Sex Pistols: The Filth and the Fury” will continue this month with “Welcome to the Club: The Women of Rockabilly” screening April 17th, at 7:30 at the Top Hat Lounge.
