Applications are now open for the following Artist Development Labs and grants:
The producing lab is an intensive, five-week program designed to help filmmakers develop skills as creative, independent producers. Producers apply with feature length narrative projects that are already in active development or pre-production; through the lab, Fellows then develop strategies and action plans for bringing those projects to fruition.
The Alfred P. Sloan Foundation will award one participant of the Film Independent Producing Lab the annual Sloan Producers Grant of $30,000 with which to further develop their project. The screenplay should have a scientific, mathematical and/or technological theme and storyline or have a leading character that is a scientist, engineer or mathematician.
Fast Track is a three-day financing market held during the LA Film Festival and designed to help producer-director teams “fast track” their projects. Through intensive meetings with top executives, financiers, agents, managers, distributors, granting organizations and production companies, participants gain valuable exposure and build vital relationships as they propel their films towards completion.
The Alfred P. Sloan Foundation will award one participant of Film Independent’s Fast Track a $20,000 production grant. The screenplay should have a scientific, mathematical, and/or technological theme and storyline, or have a leading character that is a scientist, engineer, or mathematician.
