Indie Fest
Call For Submissions
The Indie Fest is about helping independent filmmakers secure distribution, the Holy Grail of filmmaking. They have relationships with distributors friendly to independent filmmakers.
The Indie is a showcase for cinematic gems and unique voices.
The Indie is a virtual festival. It does not have physical screenings. Rather, winners are promoted via targeted press releases to media outlets and The Indie’s email database of more than 25,000 filmmakers and industry insiders.
The Indie recognizes filmmakers who demonstrate exceptional achievement in craft and creativity. First-time filmmakers are often recognized. The festival receives entries from all over the world.
Indie awards go to those filmmakers who produce fresh, standout entertainment, animation and compelling documentaries. Each year: In-kind $1500 production studio opportunity, in-kind $10,100 post production opportunity, and humanitarian award.
Entries come in from all over the world. Entry deadline is January 27, 2012.

Trailer Festival
Call For Submissions
The Trailer Festival's mission is to connect unrepresented filmmakers and writers with Hollywood agents, managers, producers and distributors. The first two festivals have achieved huge success and careers are already being forged. These festivals were attended by industry only and included Fox, Disney, Paramount and PBS. All the trailers were then placed in an Online Screening Room and for a year after the event Hollywood managers, producers and distributors logged in to view fllmmakers' work. They subsequently requested over 200 DVDs and scripts, with 11 deals being made. Please visit the Success Stories page on our website for more information www.thetrailerfestival.com. Submissions deadline is July 31, 2012 and the fee to submimt is $30 until March 31, 2012.

Rural Route Film Festival
Call For Submissions
After a successful re-launch year in New York City, Rural Route opens a call for submissions for its 8th Annual Film Festival, to take place in New York City, late summer, 2012. Deadline March 16, 2012. The festival highlights independent works that deal with rural people and places. While so much media is set within the confines of big cities like New York and Los Angeles, Rural Route wants to showcase the many unique and extraordinary overlooked voices of the ‘everyday’ world. We strive to put together an international community of like-minded artists that produce fiction films, documentaries, and experimental pieces from the fields, mountains, deserts, and seas. Topics include: progressive agriculture, outdoor adventure, indigenous issues, the environment, travel, and always artsy/fun stuff. There is no completion year requirement.

International Wildlife Film Festival

The 35th International Wildlife Film Festival (IWFF) has announced its call for entries. IWFF is the premier film venue that celebrates wildlife and natural history programming from a global perspective. IWFF will take place in Missoula, MT during the month of May. The theme is Challenge, Choice & Promise: Wildlife Film and Conservation in the 21st Century. IWFF invites you to enter your films and programs and join them for what promises to be an unforgettable time of award-winning films and dynamic speakers, working on the front-lines of conservation.
As an international film and conservation media center for filmmakers, broadcasters, scientists, educators, and students, IWFF provides a unique opportunity for the sharing of ideas and the development of proactive projects that impact what happens to our planet. Discovery Channel Casting Call
Discovery Channel is currently conducting a nationwide search for men and women who want a fresh start in the great state of Alaska. If you have a skill that you can contribute to the construction of an Alaskan homestead (plumber, electrician, contractor, etc.), and if you have a genuine interest in relocating to that homestead, we want to meet you. The location is in Alaska and has not been determined yet. The show will be filming in the Spring of 2012. We will be filming approximately for 1 month and scheduling conflicts should not prevent anyone from participating - once the show is cast. Cast members be within the 18-55 age range and have an essential construction skill. Cast members will be compensated for time on the show.

Montana Actor's Studio
For the actor (or the actor within you), isn't it time you checked out the Montana Actor's Studio (MAS) in Bozeman? MAS is beginning their fifth year training actors of all ages and abilities. Headed by Casting Director, Tina Buckingham, MAS is dedicated to the support, education and networking of actors through hands-on education in the craft and business of acting for film and television.
On-going items on the monthly agenda of the Actor's Studio are 'nuts and bolts' of the business (marketing, head shots & resumes, auditioning) and scene work with fellow actors, plus opportunities to audition for film and commercial projects, including featured roles in MSU student films. Membership also includes career advice, contacts, emailed newsletters and links to film news and sites.
Our Young Actors (ages 8 -19) meet the third Saturday of the month from 10:00 - noon. Teens are invited to come to the adult sessions as well. They meet on the fourth Wednesday of every month from 7:00 - 9:00 pm. Yearly membership is only $100. Family discounts and scholarships are available.
