From parties and panels to nonstop screenings and special events, an electric atmosphere is maintained throughout. Some highlights from the past year include Lixin Fan's LAST TRAIN HOME playing to a capacity crowd at the 1200 seat Missouri Theatre (with Fan in attendance); Adam Curtis (POWER OF NIGHTMARES) bringing his stunning and seldom seen IT FELT LIKE A KISS; and films ranging from the blockbuster (Soderbergh's AND EVERYTHING IS GOING FINE, RESTREPO), to undiscovered gems (Robert Green's KATI WITH AN I).
T/F began as a tribute to nonfiction film and those working in this burgeoning and essential field, and continues to honor this spirit. As Alex Gibney said, "[T/F] is how it should be, and rarely is". Click here for more information.

Founded in 1981, the American Film Market (AFM) has grown steadily to become the premiere global marketplace where Hollywood’s decision-makers and trendsetters all gather under one roof. Unlike a film festival, the AFM is a marketplace where production and distribution deals are closed. The business of independent motion picture production and distribution - a truly collaborative process - reaches its peak every year at the American Film Market. Over 8,000 industry leaders converge in Santa Monica for eight days of deal-making, screenings, seminars, red carpet premieres, networking and parties. Participants come from over 70 countries and include acquisition and development executives, agents, attorneys, directors, distributors, festival directors, financiers, film commissioners, producers, writers, the world’s press all those who provide services to the motion picture industry.
The AFM transforms Santa Monica. The Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel and the Le Merigot Beach Hotel are converted into a busy marketplace. All 23 screens on the Santa Monica Promenade and the surrounding community become AFM screening rooms for the entire eight-day event and eight digital and video screening rooms are added just for the AFM. Participants may view more than 900 screenings of approximately 500 films - 31 new films every two hours - the majority of them world or U.S. premieres. Titles range from big budget blockbusters that will be released by the major studios in the U.S., to lower budget art and genre films recognized at international film festivals, all destined for theaters and television around the world. Spokane International Film Festival
The Spokane International Film Festival is a small, selective festival of world-class films. They are chosen from the very best features, documentaries and shorts that have been made around the world during the past two years but have not yet been commercially released for wide distribution. In fact they are the same films as those seen each year at the Cannes, New York or Toronto film festivals, and our programmers travel widely to screen and select them. A major attraction of the festival is the presence of the filmmakers and stars themselves as our guests. They meet the audiences, share their own stories and anecdotes about the making of their films, and answer questions from audience members. The discussions are lively and educational and a favorite part of the festival for both filmmaker and audience. To learn more about this festival visit www.spokanefilmfestival.org.
