Highway 89 runs from Alberta Border at Port of Piegan to Wyoming Border near Gardiner for 404 miles. In 1934 Highway 89 extended north into Montana along current routing from the north Yellowstone Nat'l Park entrance, replacing US 87 north of Great Falls and US 87W.
