Bridger Mountain Range
The Bridger Mountain Range is a sub-range of the Rocky Mountains, located in southwestern Montana. The Bridgers are named after one of the first explorers of Yellowstone National Park. Due to the faulting and folding of the Earth's crust, the range offers some of the most captivating layered rock formations. The Bridger Mountain Range is home to the Bridger Bowl Ski Area and Bridger Mountains National Recreation Trail which offers a range of outstanding recreational opportunities. Sacagawea Peak (9,665 ft) is the highest point of the Bridgers and can be accessed from Fairy Lake. The view from the top of the Gallatin and Shields Valleys along with the surrounding mountain ranges is truly magnificent.
